Description
It is a number of services that the European Commission outsourced, through a call for application EuropeAid/129020/C/SER/MULTI, to a consortium of sector operators, including ENEA, with the aim of contributing to developing an integrated Euro-Mediterranean green electricity from renewables to meet the electricity demand of the southern Mediterranean countries and encourage the export of part of the electricity so produced to the European countries.
The general aim is to install a new 20 GW capacity of electricity generation from renewables by 2020 in the Mediterranean Basin.
ENEA Activities:
- Transfer of know-how and capacity building (identification of skills available in the target countries, definition of a collaboration roadmap with the EU, organization of seminars, workshops and visits)
- Support in implementing sustainable energy policies (definition of a clean energy platform and a strategic agenda, training programmes)
