For achieving the objectives:
Goals: 9. Industry, innovation & infrastructure
Description
ENEA provides its expertise for the identification of best available techniques (BAT) and best environmental practices (BEP) to reduce emissions of environmental pollutants and in particular of unintentionally produced persistent organic pollutants (U-POPs) in primary and secondary metallurgical industry, identified as one of the most important sources.
Benefits and advantages:
- Strengthening the sustainable industrial development in developing countries and countries with economies in transition;
- Reduction in the environmental release of pollutants of global concern.
ENEA services:
- Assistance in the development of project proposals related to the reduction of U-POPs from the metallurgical industries;
- Detailed assessment of pilot facilities and identification of emission reduction opportunities through changes in processes, raw materials specifications, introduction of appropriate techniques and technologies;
- Capacity building and awareness raising.
