Solar cooling facilities

For achieving the objectives:
goal 7
goal 11
Goals: 7. Affordable and clean energy, 11. Sustainable cities and communities

Description

ENEA designs and develops solar cooling facilities which can maximize the exploitation of solar energy over the year also thanks to two storage systems. They actually allow to produce more uniform heating and cooling energy better exploitable by end users with higher energy and cost saving despite the initial investment. This technology is particularly suitable to be used in developing countries, e.g., in health care centres located in rural areas, which lack electric power cabling.

Benefits and Advantages:

  • Lower use of fossil energy thanks to the increasing penetration of renewable energy
  • Maximum exploitation of solar energy thanks to thermal and cooling energy storage systems
  • Wider-spread culture of environmental sustainability and energy efficiency in end uses;
  • Better life style made possible in the southern countries of the globe

ENEA Service:

  • Technology transfer
  • Consulting
  • Training and guidelines
